I explore how, amongst the many parts of modern life that India consists of, it still manages to blend them all in a way that is not fully comprehensible to me, and into a feeling that I cannot describe with words alone. Faces《臉》

An essay film and a portrait of faces in the city of Hong Kong. From artistic representations of faces to unrecognizable faces under the masks of protestors, these faces inspire me to reflect on picture taking, race, colonial history, and the ongoing social movement.

Prison《囚》

YUNG Wing Sum

The Chinese character“囚”is a pictograph with a human being locked inside a cage. This is similar to how we experience everyday life under coronavirus pandemic. But are we being locked down during this time only? My video probes deeper to find that we all are imprisoned everywhere and every time in modern life.

The Doll

SO Ka Ling, WONG Tsz Ying, YIU Tsz Tung, LIN Yung Hsien, Issac ING

A story about a humanoid doll who does not want to be trapped and tortured by a buyer who comes to the doll house. Even though she was at first chosen by the buyer because of her energetic “human” dancing style, she intelligently used the jealousy of the other dolls to change her appearance with another doll so that she finally reaches her own freedom.

​“Time tunnel”, one of the most mysterious places of HKU inside the Haking-wong building, is a corridor that anyone who passes through it after 10pm should NEVER look back. Otherwise, your soul will be split up into pieces and trapped in the same day until……you have found a replacement.

Close Up

​A story about a boy who reads people’s minds by observing their body language. He uses this newly acquired ability to please others, so he can avoid conflict with them. This ability slowly consumes him and leaves him falling into a trap of excessive analyzing and over compensating.
