Bringing the Past and Present Together: Historic Jamestown

This poster, as an assignment to promote public interest to historical sites, is divided into three sections. ‘Entertainment’, at the bottom, symbolises ‘earthly’ pleasures. ‘Tobacco’ in the middle mediates between the light-hearted and grim topics. ‘Spiritual’ at the top represents the afterlife back to ashes.

This poster introduces the background information about the Maya civilisation such as its development, decline and location. And also introduces its famous ceramics and architectures which reflected their culture in the past. For example, from the paintings on the pottery, we can find out the sun element which reflected their beliefs. And the structure of the temple also reflected some of their cultures.
