This Common Core collaborative research project was a partnership between HKU undergraduate students and the international sustainable business consultancy firm, BSR (https://www.bsr.org/). The project aimed to identify and research emerging issues and trends impacting the future of sustainable business in Asia.

Under the expert guidance of consultants from the BSR Futures Team, the students developed skills in horizon scanning, identifying signals of change, and extrapolating potential implications. The project culminated in a final report and presentation delivered by the students.

The schedule of the project comprised:

• An online workshop session on Thursday, 9th Feb 2023, from 9am – 11am.
• Online meetings with the BSR Futures Team.
• A final presentation session in April 2023.

The project was open to all undergraduate students with a prerequisite of strong written communication skills. Over the course of the project, students developed their research and consultancy skills and gained exposure to real-world ESG issues.
