As an initiative to provide a professional development path for tutors, the Communication-Intensive Courses (CiC) initiative in collaboration with the Common Core and the Centre for Applied English Studies (CAES), is hosting a 1-day workshop open to all HKU tutors.

This hands-on workshop will provide practical skills and strategies to enhance the engagement and experiences of students within interdisciplinary courses. It will cover the following topics:

• How to be an effective tutor to maximise student engagement
• How to plan and run a tutorial
• How to create communication-rich assessment tasks and give feedback to students
• The basics of small classroom management

Participants who successfully complete all course assessments will receive a certificate formally recognizing their commitment to professional development.
