As an initiative to provide a professional development path for tutors, the Common Core, in collaboration with the Centre for Applied English (CAES) and Communication-Intensive Courses (CiC), is hosting a 1-day workshop open to all Common Core tutors. This hands-on workshop will provide practical skills and strategies to enhance the engagement and experiences of students within interdisciplinary courses.

This hands-on workshop will provide practical skills and strategies to enhance the engagement and experiences of students within interdisciplinary courses. It will cover:

• How to be an effective Common Core tutor to maximise student engagement
• How to plan and run a tutorial
• How to create communication-rich assessment tasks and give feedback to students
• The basics of classroom management
• Interdisciplinary collaborative inquiry approach

Upon satisfactory completion of all course assessments, participants will receive a certificate formally recognising their commitment to professional development.
The course is suitable for both new and experienced tutors.
