I am Li Chun Hong (Philip), a BASc(Design+) student taking Neuroscience as a 2nd major and Philosophy as a minor. Throughout my studies in HKU, I have been avidly exploring transdisicplinarity, especially in areas that juxtapose the human living experience with cognition and design. I am currently focusing on EEG-based brain-computer interface projects. My previous design works cross social wellbeing and neuroscience with design, such as The Astravatar, an EEG-based augmented reality mental projection prototype.
Beyond my academic experience, I actively participate and support student-initiated projects and events. Music is a large aspect of my HKU life with my active participation in the University Philharmonic Orchestra, of which I was committee member of the 25th Session. Experiential learning is another significant aspect that I deem transformative in HKU, with summer programmes and initiatives taken place in Singapore, Shanghai, Gansu and Taiwan.
I see life as an ever-explorative journey, and with Common Core presenting a myriad of opportunities for us to step out of our comfort zone, I believe any HKUer who is optimistic and energetic in their pursuits will be able to uncover unexpected encounters and discoveries here.
