My name is Riya Mitesh Surti, and I am a first-year BSc student majoring in Mathematics. I have always been fascinated by the logical structure and problem-solving nature of math, and I’m excited to dive deeper into subjects like calculus, algebra, and mathematical reasoning during my degree. I enjoy studying common cores because they deflect from the regular studying of coursework. They teach us skills about the real world. My common cores for this semester are CCGL9074 and CCAI9004. CCGL9074 teaches us how the vast amounts of data generated in modern cities can be harnessed to understand and address complex urban challenges. CCAI9004 moves beyond the technical aspects of AI to address broader questions about its role in society. The course examines how AI can be designed and used not only to enhance efficiency and productivity but also to promote human flourishing
