Jenee Ka Yin LukBA, Year 4

Hi there! My name is Jenee. I was born and spent half of my life in Brazil, and moved to HK years ago, where I’ve spend most of my time connecting with people from all over the world. Having also lived in Canada, UK and Taiwan, I always liked to connect with people whenever I am.

I love going around and joining international opportunities. This year I joined programs like APRU in Malaya University, Malaysia and a GBA program in Foreign Studies University. Last year I joined a teaching program in Sri Lanka and went on exchange to the University of Birmingham, UK, and I’d be going to Vietnam for another program and I am really excited about these opportunities.

I am majoring in Global and Area Studies (EU studies) with minors in Linguistics and Education. I love that HKU allows me to combine diverse interests and specially in common core, where we can explore topics and possibilities out of our majors. Some of my most meaningful experiences at HKU have come from Common Core courses, where I’ve met classmates from different faculties and backgrounds and learned just as much from their perspectives as from the classroom itself. I’ve made my first close friends in uni in my first CC. I believe these moments of exchange are what make the Common Core so special, and I’m excited to support its growth by listening to students and helping their voices shape the program.
