I am Ng Yui Hin (Hin), a third year psychology and neuroscience major from the Bachelor of Psychology programme. In my years at HKU, I have been a dedicated student who is highly motivated to improve himself and to engage in new experiences, engaging in the Laidlaw Scholars Programme, G17 Global University Ambassadors initiative and the TransDisciplinary Undergraduate Research Initiative. Participating in the Transdsciplinary Research Fellowship on critical zones and water, I also possess a keen heart for promoting transdiciplinary research for the betterment of society. Academically, I have been awarded the HKU Alumni Prize and places on the Dean’s Honours List for two consecutive years, and am working on academic publications. As for my experience in sustainable development and social impact, I am preparing for this year’s UN Millennium Fellowship, focusing on sustainable development goals 4 (quality education), and will participate in a 6-week volunteer and leadership journey with Makesense — France this summer (SDG 3 Good Health and Well-being). Having realised the importance of the common core curriculum and associated opportunities on my personal growth and social impact, it would be an honour to share my experience and insight on the development of Common Core.
