This handbook is designed to acquaint you with the HKU Common Core Curriculum and to assist you in making an informed selection of the courses you wish to study. It provides you with detailed information of all the Common Core courses on offer in 2011-2012.

The Common Core Curriculum is a new requirement for undergraduate students at HKU. It is designed to broaden students’ horizons beyond their chosen disciplines and give them the opportunity to explore issues of profound significance to humankind in the 21st century.

87 Common Core courses are being offered in 2011 and this will increase to over 150 by 2012
