Having done my entire schooling in Jakarta, Indonesia, at an IB School had always been a platform to develop myself holistically and approach learning by inquiring, researching and applying interpersonal skills every day. Perhaps, that is why the Common Core impressed me in the beginning – it’s unique because it embraces diversity. I could easily relate the principles of CC at HKU with my middle school MYP AOIs (Middle Years Programme – Areas of Interaction) and thus enjoyed taking my courses as I believe each CC is applicable to any part of our lives. I chose my CC courses keeping my interest towards Biology and Literature in mind since I am majoring in Engineering and wanted to make the most of the opportunity. In the long run, I aspire to become a Renaissance kind of woman as I love to broaden my mindset.
