Night Time Design in Hong Kong – Perceptions of Safety Do you feel safe walking alone at night?   The Common Core in collaboration with Arup (https://www.arup.com) is providing the opportunity for students to participate in furthering the sustainable development of the city through exploring how night lighting influences perceptions of safety in different sites around Hong Kong. U21 RISE (Real Impact on Society and Environment) is an international video competition for student teams to showcase their projects related to sustainability and social innovation. Winning teams will be awarded a prize of USD 2,000 each, together with access to a global network of experts in academia and industry to help scale their projects. Unforeseen Circumstances 2020-21: An Online Journal and Exhibit Space In order to reflect more deeply on the unforeseen circumstances of 2020-21 that have impacted our learning together—and to create a marker for what we have experienced—the Common Core is seeking brief videos, photographs, creative maps, data-visualizations, drawings, music and sound art, essays, short fiction, poems, designs for experiments, architectural and computational models and other creative artefacts.
