Dear Participants,   After careful consideration of the health and safety of our participants and partners under the emergence of the Omicron variant of COVID-19 virus in the community—and after consultations with our HKU partners—we have made the difficult decision to postpone Origins of Cinema & Preserving Film Heritage on 10 January 2022 to yet a later date.   This is deeply frustrating since this is already our second attempt, but the new government COVID rules apply to “events and performances,” so we need to align with those guidelines for the health of all.   It looks to be a

U21 RISE (Real Impact on Society and Environment) is an international video competition for student teams to showcase their projects related to sustainability and social innovation. Winning teams will be awarded a prize of USD 2,000 each, together with access to a global network of experts in academia and industry to help scale their projects. Dear Common Core Students, As you are all aware, on-campus classes have been cancelled for the rest of the semester and various forms of online connections will be used instead. Here is the message from the Senior Management Team: In view of the uncertain and unsafe traffic conditions for travelling to HKU, we are suspending classes on the Main Campus for the rest of the semester and making teaching and learning accessible online. This will enable students to stay away from campus, and even leave Hong Kong should they wish, while at the same time completing their courses and assessments.
